OPTIMUS SOLUTIONS’ NEW DENVER OFFICE WINS BIG
USDA IMPLEMENTATION FOR DISEASE MANAGEMENT
Consulting Group With IBM Expertise Delivered National Project
NORCROSS, GEORGIA – May 15, 2006 - Optimus Solutions, a
comprehensive IT products and solutions provider, announces its new
office in Denver has won a big Information Technology (IT)
implementation with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Optimus Consulting, a division of Optimus Solutions, was instrumental in
delivering the outbreak management system that uses IBM Lotus/Domino
technology. The Emergency Management Reporting System (EMRS) is a
disease response management application that helps manage and track the
employees, facilities, costs and status of each disease investigation
for federal and state animal health agencies.
“Optimus Consulting specializes in designing, developing, and
delivering quality IT solutions that create value and solve problems for
customers,” said Ted Chappell, Vice President of Optimus Consulting.
“Our Denver office’s consulting team, headed by Nicholas Rothery and
Ryan Little, are experts in IBM Lotus/Domino systems. They chose this
technology because of its scalability and reliability in mission
critical situations like disease management.”
Spurred on by the hoof-and-mouth disease scare in Europe, the USDA
realized their current disease tracking system was costly and not robust
enough to handle major crises. Upon referral from the Georgia Emergency
Management Agency, the USDA turned to Optimus Consulting to help them
implement a consistent, reliable system to track the investigation of,
and response to, disease outbreaks in the United States.
Running the EMRS system on the Lotus/Domino system enables the USDA
to be proactive in standardizing their procedures for possible
outbreaks. With Lotus/Domino and the EMRS, the USDA can quickly mobilize
thousands of employees and volunteers and manage their efforts to
minimize environmental and financial costs during investigations.
The USDA was so pleased with the initial EMRS implementation that
they are using it across the nation. The new streamlined system has
greatly reduced operating costs and made it easier for remote and office
workers to gain access to the most up-to-date information.
Optimus’ Denver office is located at 707 17th
Street, Suite 2170, Denver, CO, 80202. The phone number is 303.297.3880.
